Datanode Uuid unassigned

This is for Hadoop eco system like HDFS, Map reduce, Hive, Hbase, Pig, sqoop,sqoop2, Avro, solr, hcatalog, impala, Oozie, Zoo Keeper and Hadoop distribution like Cloudera, Hortonwork etc.

Datanode Uuid unassigned

I am getting below error while starting the datanode:

The problem is due to a difference between the cluster id of data node and namenode
(../hadoop-2.0/hdfs/datanode/current/VERSION) and the cluster id in the namenode as in ../hadoop-2.0/hdfs/namenode/current/VERSION.


I've just had to set to the same CID, but no idea what caused this difference, may be formatting HDFS
many times via $HADOOP_HOME/bin/hdfs namenode -format.
