What is Hadoop Daemons? How many Daemon run on Hadoop?

This is for Hadoop eco system like HDFS, Map reduce, Hive, Hbase, Pig, sqoop,sqoop2, Avro, solr, hcatalog, impala, Oozie, Zoo Keeper and Hadoop distribution like Cloudera, Hortonwork etc.

What is Hadoop Daemons? How many Daemon run on Hadoop? How to check hadoop daemon are running?
e.g. command or UI to check namemonode/datanode/jobtracker/tasktracker are running on Hadoop cluster or machine

Daemons is a term commonly used with UNIX/Linux. It refers to processes and available as per request.
following daemons run on Hadoop cluster.
1) NameNode, 2) DataNode, 3) Job Tracker, 4) Task Tracker and 5)Secondary NameNode

You can use jps and ./hadoop dfsadmin -report commands to check above daemons are running or not on Hadoop cluster.
